Prayer Journey. 7th to 20th November
Come visit the Cradle of Christianity of the early church of North Africa.
Join us in Tunisia this November 2009 as we continue our 5 year Prayer Journey across the nations of North Africa.
Follow in the footsteps of the 1st century missionaries and find answers to why the Gospel took such a strong hold of these peoples hearts and minds. Why did Carthage (modern Tunis) become a major Christian centre rivalling Rome? In the age of heresies before the books of the New Testament were agreed upon, it was Tertullian who first used the word 'trinatas', laying out the concept of the Trinity we accept today, and who also wrote the well known phrase, "In the blood of the martyrs lies the seed of the Church." We indeed owe him and others like Augustine great thanks for the legacy they have left us. Tunisia was there base.
Join us as we pray for the people of Tunisia today who have known virtually no Christian witness. Why was the flame that burned so brightly in their ancestors suddenly snuffed out by Islam? What obstacles stand on the road to their freedom in Christ? See for yourself why women in Tunisia are treated better than anywhere in the Islamic world.
Come and visit some of the best preserved ancient sites in the Mediterranean, one minute driving along majestic coastline with its balmy crystal blue waters and the next minute find yourselves surrounded by countryside brimming with olives, dates and oranges. Experience the legendary warmth of its people.
Come raise a banner and a heart-cry for God's love to break in to this once cradle of Christianity in North Africa.
